VEHICLE DELIVERY AND RETURN POLICY
WAWACAR RENT A CAR

1. PURPOSE

This Vehicle Delivery and Return Policy establishes the procedures governing the delivery, inspection, use and return of vehicles rented through Wawacar Rent a Car.

Our objective is to provide a transparent, efficient and professional rental experience while protecting both our Customers and our company.

2. AUTHORIZED DELIVERY AND RETURN LOCATIONS

Wawacar Rent a Car currently provides vehicle delivery and return services at the following authorized locations within the Dominican Republic:

  • Las Américas International Airport (Santo Domingo)
  • Cibao International Airport (Santiago)
  • Punta Cana International Airport
  • La Romana International Airport

Vehicle delivery or collection at hotels, residences, offices, marinas, cruise ports or other agreed locations may be available upon request and is subject to operational availability and additional service fees.

3. RESERVATION CONFIRMATION

Prior to the rental date, Wawacar may contact the Customer to confirm:

  • Reservation details.
  • Pickup location.
  • Pickup date and time.
  • Flight number, when applicable.
  • Estimated arrival time.
  • Contact information.
  • Payment details.
  • Required documentation.

Failure to provide accurate information may delay vehicle delivery.

4. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

At the time of vehicle pickup, Customers must present the original documents requested by Wawacar, including:

  • Valid passport or government-issued identification.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Payment card used for the reservation, when applicable.
  • Any additional documentation reasonably requested for identity verification or fraud prevention.

Failure to provide the required documentation may result in the cancellation of the reservation.

5. VEHICLE INSPECTION AT PICKUP

Before delivery, both parties may inspect the vehicle together.

The inspection may include verification of:

  • Exterior condition.
  • Interior condition.
  • Windshield and windows.
  • Tires and wheels.
  • Fuel level.
  • Odometer reading.
  • Lights.
  • Mirrors.
  • Accessories.
  • Vehicle equipment.
  • Existing cosmetic damage.

Any pre-existing damage will be documented in the vehicle inspection report.

Customers are encouraged to carefully inspect the vehicle before leaving the pickup location.

Acceptance of the vehicle without reporting visible damage may constitute acknowledgment that the vehicle was received in satisfactory condition.

6. VEHICLE CONDITION

Wawacar delivers vehicles that are:

  • Mechanically safe.
  • Properly maintained.
  • Cleaned before delivery.
  • Equipped with legally required documentation.
  • Supplied with the agreed fuel level.
  • Ready for normal operation.
7. FUEL POLICY

Unless otherwise agreed, vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level provided at pickup.

If the fuel level is lower upon return, Wawacar may charge:

  • The cost of the missing fuel.
  • A refueling service fee.

Customers who purchased a prepaid fuel option shall be subject to the applicable terms of that service.

8. AIRPORT DELIVERIES

For airport deliveries, Customers should provide accurate flight information, including:

  • Airline.
  • Flight number.
  • Estimated arrival time.
  • Flight changes.
  • Delays or cancellations.

Wawacar will make reasonable efforts to monitor flight schedules and coordinate vehicle delivery accordingly.

However, Wawacar shall not be liable for delays caused by:

  • Airlines.
  • Immigration authorities.
  • Customs inspections.
  • Airport security.
  • Flight cancellations.
  • Circumstances beyond Wawacar’s control.
9. CUSTOMER DELAYS

Customers expecting to arrive later than the scheduled pickup time should notify Wawacar as soon as possible.

Although every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate delayed arrivals, vehicle availability cannot be guaranteed if significant delays occur without prior notice.

10. VEHICLE RETURN

The rental vehicle must be returned:

  • On the agreed return date.
  • At the agreed return time.
  • At the agreed return location.
  • With all original keys.
  • With all supplied accessories.
  • With all vehicle documentation.
  • With the agreed fuel level.
  • In substantially the same condition as received, excluding normal wear and tear.
11. VEHICLE RETURN INSPECTION

Upon return, Wawacar may inspect the vehicle to verify:

  • Exterior condition.
  • Interior condition.
  • New damages.
  • Windshield condition.
  • Tire condition.
  • Fuel level.
  • Mileage.
  • Missing equipment.
  • Additional cleaning requirements.

If additional charges are identified, they may be billed in accordance with the Rental Agreement and applicable policies.

12. AFTER-HOURS RETURNS

Customers requesting vehicle returns outside normal business hours must obtain prior approval from Wawacar.

Additional service fees may apply.

Where a vehicle is left without a Wawacar representative present, the official inspection will be completed once the vehicle is recovered by our staff.

Any damages discovered during that inspection will be documented and communicated to the Customer.

13. RETURN TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION

Returning a vehicle to a location different from the one originally agreed requires prior authorization.

Additional charges may apply to cover:

  • Transportation costs.
  • Vehicle relocation.
  • Operational expenses.
  • Administrative processing.
14. EARLY RETURN

Customers may return the vehicle before the scheduled return date.

Early return does not automatically entitle the Customer to a refund for unused rental days.

Promotional rates may be recalculated based on the actual rental period.

15. LATE RETURN

Vehicles returned after the agreed return time may incur:

  • Hourly charges.
  • Additional rental days.
  • Revised rental rates.
  • Administrative fees.
  • Other applicable charges.

The amount charged will depend on the length of the delay and the applicable rental terms.

16. PERSONAL BELONGINGS

Customers are responsible for removing all personal belongings before returning the vehicle.

Although Wawacar will make reasonable efforts to safeguard items found inside returned vehicles, we:

  • Do not guarantee recovery.
  • Accept no liability for lost or damaged property.
  • May charge shipping costs if items are requested to be returned.
17. FAILURE TO RETURN THE VEHICLE

If the vehicle is not returned as agreed and Wawacar is unable to contact the Customer, the Company reserves the right to initiate recovery procedures as permitted by applicable law.

The Customer may be responsible for:

  • Recovery expenses.
  • Towing.
  • Legal fees.
  • Loss of Use charges.
  • Additional rental charges.
  • Any damages resulting from unauthorized possession.
18. VEHICLE REPLACEMENT

If the rented vehicle becomes unavailable due to mechanical failure not caused by the Customer, Wawacar may, subject to fleet availability:

  • Replace the vehicle.
  • Repair the vehicle.
  • Arrange roadside assistance.
  • Offer another reasonable operational solution.

Vehicle replacement is subject to fleet availability and operational circumstances.

19. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

During the rental period, Customers are responsible for:

  • Safeguarding the vehicle.
  • Operating the vehicle responsibly.
  • Complying with traffic laws.
  • Reporting accidents immediately.
  • Preventing unauthorized use.
  • Keeping Wawacar informed of any incident affecting the vehicle.

Failure to comply with these responsibilities may result in additional charges or liability.
